Celebrate MLK with the Richmond Symphony

January 15, 2023, 2:00 pm - December 17, 2022, 5:00 pm

This concert for all generations celebrates the inspiring message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through an uplifting and diverse repertoire featuring spirituals, hymns and other stirring compositions by Black artists of the past and present, with an emphasis on Virginia voices.

Brown Ballerinas for Change, will perform during the concert. Isaac Wilson, a talented member of the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra Program, will be a featured violin soloist. Living Virginian composers Adolphus Hailstork and Damien Geter (current Richmond Symphony Composer-in-Residence) complete the program with selections from their canon.
