Podium RVA – Teen Professional Conference

Tuesday, July 25, 2023

The Teen Professional Conference is a multi-day summer intensive where teens ages 14-19 connect with peers from across Greater Richmond and professionals from diverse career fields. Meeting at a central location, youth are introduced to networking, professional development, financial literacy growth, and college and career planning. By attending professional panel discussions and community-hosted breakout sessions, college-bound and job-seeking teens build upon the skills needed to thrive in today’s modern economy.

Throughout the conference, attendees strengthen professional communication and team building skills, learn time management and project leadership, and create plans for post-graduation success. Youth are able to leverage the opportunities and connections made throughout the conference, and they leave inspired to take on the next steps in their journey with clarity and purpose.

The summer 2022 conference returned to an in-person, two-day format and served 37 teens from Armstrong High School, George Wythe High School, and John Marshall High School. Youth saw themselves published in one zine.

In 2023, Podium will expand the conference to include all partnering high schools and community centers in Richmond and the Tri-Cities.
