May 20-22, 2016

Celebrate Jackson Ward: Past Present and Future will commemorate the history, people and places of Jackson Ward with a weekend of stories, performances and activities that showcase the talented individuals and organizations who uphold and enrich the community. Featuring the Richmond Symphony under its new “Big Tent” with Virginia Repertory Theatre, Richmond Jazz Society and Elegba Folklore Society, the festival will also present community, professional and school groups on the Symphony’s new state-of-the-art outdoor stage. Additionally, the Festival will highlight Art 180’s Really Big Show, inviting visitors to view and the creations of the spectacular young talent of Richmond and engage with the organization that turns lives and communities around through art. Proceeds from the festival will be used to benefit the Black History Museum and Cultural Arts Center of Virginia, Friends Association for Children, and G.W. Carver Elementary School.
